Berthold Delikatessen and Frieda are two new dining brands that have been recently unveiled by The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore.
Berthold Delikatessen – Contemporary Classics
Berthold Delikatessen presents the best of traditional German delicatessen and classic European style cafes under one roof. They are located at the ground floor of the Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski, guests can choose to dine at the main dining area, alfresco area or at the mezzanine level.
They will be of only a handful of local bakeries to offer an extensive daily selection of German-style breads , rolls and pastries.
Frieda
Frieda seeks to create a home from home experience, where guests can feel the sense of place and belonging, the hospitality, spirit and warmth of eating at home.
Frieda’s menu is a reinterpretation of traditional German cuisine with Austrian influences.

If you remember the old Capitol Theatre, that is a likely chance that you would remember the Magnolia Snack Bar, where you can get your delicious milkshakes. Going way back in time to 1937, the cosy “Creameries Milk Bar” in the Capitol Building served ice creams, milkshakes and cakes, popular with both young and old Singaporeans for social gatherings and post-movie gatherings.

The rum collection is amazing, tracing her roots back to the days when Singapore was a bustling port of call for traders, merchants and sailors. This also brought to life the story of Joseph Balestier, the first appointed US Consul to Singapore, who played a key role in the local rum movement in Singapore, he founded his own sugar plantation with stills to make rum.
