Show You Care, Go Bare at Bare Your Sole 2016

Bare Your Sole 2016 is back and it is happening on 10th September 2016! I had been participating in Bare Your Sole, Singapore’s annual barefoot walkathon from 2011 to 2014, walking barefoot and sharing about this charity barefoot walkathon. I wasn’t able to participate in 2015 Bare Your Sole due to a photography job assignment. Here’s a walk back in time with my photographs to Bare Your Sole 2011 to 2014.

Do support this cause if you are able to, sign up and come on down on the morning of 10th September 2016 for a fun leisure barefoot walk with your family, loved ones and friends! This is a great time to Pay-It-Forward and Pass-It-On!

Funds raised from the 2.5km and 5km charity walkathon will go towards Project HomeWorks, a local initiative that aims to improve the living conditions of the elderly, the sick and people with disabilities living in poor conditions across the island. This year marks the celebration of the programme’s 10th anniversary, which commemorates the heartfelt support and achievements of the community.

Over S$350,000 was raised from last year’s edition of Bare Your Sole, where more than 6,000 participants turned up to show their support.

“Bare Your Sole has always served as an opportunity to shed light on the plight of the less fortunate in Singapore and for fellow Singaporeans to step up and lend a helping hand,” said Mr. Yong Teck Meng, National Director of Habitat for Humanity Singapore. “This year’s Bare Your Sole is particularly special for us as we celebrate 10 years of good work through Project HomeWorks. My sincere gratitude goes out to every participant, volunteer and corporate partner for your continuous support.”

Aside from the walkathon, Bare Your Sole 2016 will feature a host of fun activities for the whole family while learning more about the work that Habitat for Humanity Singapore does, both locally and abroad.
