Friday 12th February 2021! It’s the first day of Chinese Lunar New Year 2021! Wishing all of you a Happy Chinese Lunar New Year! This year’s Chinese New Year festive celebrations are low key and pretty quiet, due to the regulations in place by the authorities to prevent overcrowding. The mood is subdued and at times, I don’t feel the festive mood at all.

I used to head out to River Hongbao and Chinatown during the Chinese Lunar New Year festive season, photographing the lanterns, fireworks, performances, festive activities and shopping. However, for this year 2021, due to the ongoing global pandemic, regulations and restrictions are in place to prevent overcrowding, many activities, performances and festivities are reduced, greatly dampening the Chinese Lunar New Year festive mood.

While I might still head out on the weekdays during this festive season, I would like to share some Chinese Lunar New Year photographs that I shot when I was with my family and relatives from the comfort of the home and my neighbourhood.

Choya and Coby, the super cute and adorable Pekingnese doggies (Their instagram handle: pekichoco) owned by my nieces Charmaine and Charlene, would like to wish all you a Happy Chinese Lunar New Year 2021!

My name is Choya!
