Moleskine, they are more than just the classic notebooks that I first got to know them, a classic nameless black notebooks used by some of the most talented writers and artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway and Bruce Chatwin that had long gone out of print. Today, Moleskine is more than just notebooks, they are now a diverse family of products for M, for Movers, a community that is constantly growing of like-minded passionate, creative and independent people, celebrating movers of ideas and creativity with Moleskine.

I currently have a few Moleskine notebooks, they are special and limited editions, two from Canon and one from LG. They were more than just gifts from the two major brands and I am only currently using the Canon Moleskine notebook, the other two are still wrapped up!

During a recent event in Singapore, I was introduced to Moleskine, celebrating M for Movers, of ideas and creativity, the movers life journey in a modern world today, with changes to working, travel, creativity and expression. Along with the wider world of Moleskine’s family of products, embarking on the Moleskine Creative Trail in Singapore and an introduction to urban sketching with Paul Wang.

A personal journey that started from a very small and humble beginning, with just the Travelers Notebook by the Travelers Factory. From then onwards, this personal journey started to grow and expand very slowly as I started to discover and explore more of the creative world of journaling and travel writing with my travelers notebook. A few months back, the world of leathercraft came into the scene, one step at a time, replacing my tools and setup, complementing my travelers notebook, journaling and travel writing setup.

Inspired by creative illustrators, artists and travel writers, I am slowly learning and evolving my travelers notebook, travel writing and journaling, accompanied by the classy and beautiful leathercraft works. Through my Instagram journey and sharing, you would be able to observe the changes and growth in this creative segment since I started this personal travel writing and journaling journey.

For somebody like me who doesn’t come across as a creative talent in drawing and illustration, I am slowly opening up and releasing my inner creative drawing and travel writing on the blank notebook papers inside my travelers notebook. While at times, I can’t seem to draw and sketch as beautifully like an artist, I shall do it my own style and design.

After discovering washi tapes and ink stamps, I slowly started to learn more ways to decorate and describe my travel and photography adventures along with them. An amazing process and journey, not rushing into it, searching and choosing washi tapes and ink stamps in the context of travel and photography.

Returning back to the old school system seems like a blessing and a gateway to appreciating the beautiful world out there without the madness, pressure and running the rat race, fueled by internet, social media, greed, fame and narcissism. The relentless and brutal world out there took our life and soul away for money and fame. This is the time, to take stock and make changes.

Writing, traveling, journaling, photography, arts and craft, they are giving me a new hope, a new direction and personal goals to work on. All these would fuel my inner mind, heart and soul, unleashing the creative person inside me that I never knew that I have, all thanks to this book written by Fernando Gros, titled “No Missing Tools”, a book that I am very thankful for and here’s my book review for the book! Along with other books, from travel to minimalism, and ikigai – finding my purpose in life, I am able to appreciate more things in life.

I hope to share more creative illustration, travel adventure stories and enriching experiences that would blow you off and away into your travel wanderlust. Over time, I hope to add more photos into my Flickr photo album from my adventures in travel writing, journaling with travelers notebook and leathercraft workds.

A lot of work in progress, it will be a never ending journey, as I continue to trek forward and upward, expanding my travel writing and travel photography. I am seeking and generating more different and unique experiences with my travel writing and travel photography, a travel wanderlust I am, with my own travel stories book to be published in the near future.

Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park? My initial thoughts, “… What kind of place is this that we are visiting? It doesn’t sound too interesting ….” Yes, that’s my first reaction when I heard of this destination that was on our schedule planned by Tiffany, the person who liaised most of the travel planning and discussions with the respective travel, tourism and hospitality companies for our Chiang Mai trip.

However, I confessed that when I first stepped into Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park in the afternoon after our half day trip to Doi Suthep National Park in the morning, I was in awe of this lovely, quiet and tranquil location. This place is environmentally friendly, superb hospitality, a cosy café known as Adobe Cafe, nice souvenirs, craft works and art works gift shop.

Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park is an easy destination to navigate, you can walk on your own through the eight stations and explore it yourself, there are maps, signages and boards explaining the processes at each station. Alternatively, you can sign up for the guided tour. We were hosted by Ms. Tun Kanokrat, Managing Director of Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park, she brought us on a guided tour, demonstrating and explaining to us the processes at each different stages of producing the poopoo paper.

History of Paper Garden– Before you start, visit this segment at the park and learn about the history of paper, the origin and development over the centuries

Poo Fiber Shed– Next up, visit the Poo Poo Shed, touch and smell the dried poo! Don’t worry, it’s not smelly!

Cleaning & Boiling– The dried poo fiber is put through the process of cleaning and boiling, inside the big hot wok over the charcoal fire.

Mixing & Colouring– After cleaning and boiling, they are headed to the mixing and colouring shed, transforming into colourful pulp poo balls.

Papermaking– This is probably going to be one of the most fun part getting hands on with the pulp poo balls, spread the dried pulp poo balls onto the mesh wooden tray with water, spread them out evenly.

Sheet Screening– Bring the mesh wooden tray of the pulp poo poo fiber into the backyard for drying. While it might take some time to see your handicraft work turning into recycled paper, you can be proud of your achievement!

Team #EpiphanyGoChiangMai did a great job there, getting the videos and interviews shot by Valentino with travel hosts Tiffany and Peps, hosting, introducing and interviewing Ms Kanokrat. As for myself, I was busy taking behind the scenes photos and you can view them inside this flickr album! As the quiet Chiang Mai evening sets in, we bade farewell to this wonderful destination and returned back to our Baisiri Maya hotel in Chiang Mai.

However, Team #EpiphanyGoChiangMai, really liked this place so much that we squeezed out a few hours out from our schedule on Day 4 to visit them again after our maiden visit on Day 3 in Chiang Mai.

I got most of my photos on Day 3 of our visit and on Day 4, I continued taking photos of the park that I wasn’t able to finish taking the day before. On Day 4, I was able to get my hands on, making my own TGH Photography bookmark that I can bring home to Singapore. My own DIY bookmark from Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park provided me with wonderful memories and the friendly chats with the owners of Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park.

I would like to thank Ms. Kanokrat and her team for her warmest hospitality when they hosted us, Team #EpiphanyGoChiangMai at the Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park. Personally, I had an awesome time there, learning a lot more about eco-friendly activities, recycling, saving the environment, getting hands on with paperwork and handicraft, making my own unique poopoo paper bookmark! I am pretty sure the rest of Team #EpiphanyGoChiangMai agree with me too! More photographs of our visit to Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park can be viewed here in this Flickr album!
