Pink is the new Black! At Pandora’s Garden, this newly opened rooftop garden bar is dedicated to serving Rosé wine! When I made a visit to Pandora’s Garden, a few things caught my attention, the ambience and surroundings of Rosé bar and their Rosé wine collection!

Located on the rooftop courtyard of Ann Siang House, at 28 Ann Siang Road, in this iconic historical and retro neighbourhood of conserved heritage shophouses, the feel and ambience is different from the modern entertainment outlets located at other areas of modern Singapore. I do like the cosy rooftop garden bar of Pandora’s Garden, a nice area to relax, enjoy your drinks and have a chat with your friends.

Rosé wine is a type of beverage that I have never tried before and it was an excellent opportunity for me to taste the Rosé wine and learn more about them when I visited Pandora’s Garden. This place houses the most comprehensive collection of Rosé wine in Singapore!

I reckon not many people know about Rosé wine, it’s a pretty sophisticated yet misunderstood and they are not that well known to the public on this pink style of wine. I have to confess that my initial concept on Rosé wine is that they are made from rose, that explains my ignorance and zero knowledge on this relatively unknown wine!

Contrary to popular belief, rosé is NOT made blending red and white wine. There are several ways in which rose is made and that is not one of them. The most common rosé production method is the maceration of red grape varieties, skin still intact for between 12-24 hours to achieve the blush colour it is known for.

Rosé rules at Pandora’s Garden. Jamie and Jasmine Gripton, husband and wife team owners of Pandora’s Garden and also Brightside on Duxton Hill, has procured a sizeable collection of rosé wines that include Whispering Angel’s L’Esclans Gamus (SGD$535/bottle) named “The Greatest Rosé” ever by James Suckling, one of the world’s most influential wine critic. Ultra rare rosé champagnes such as Louis Roederer Cristal Rosé and 2007 Krug Rosé are available at SGD$1,888 and SGD$888 respectively. A regular glass of rosé starts at $12 per glass or $41 per bottle, magnum (1.5L) and jeroboam (3L) sized formats are also available at an affordable price.

“Singapore’s tropical weather is perfect for drinking rosé all year round. We don’t need to wait for summer like they do in Europe to indulge in nicely chilled wine.” says Jasmine Gripton, owner of Pandora’s Garden.

After tasting some of the Rosé wine from Pandora’s Garden, I gained a better knowledge and understanding of them. It’s really refreshing and special, easy and smooth to drink, not too strong (for me). Oh yes, Pandora’s Garden don’t just have the most comprehensive collection of Rosé wine here in Singapore, they have other alcoholic beverages too!

Look out for the weekly Blush Ladies Night on Wednesdays in which Bach Rosé, Anna Sparkling Rosé, Aperol Spritz, Pimms and Sangria flow freely for $30+ from 6pm-8pm.
