The last time that I've been to Haw Par Villa was in 2008. I really enjoyed looking at the different displays and how evocative each diorama was.

Prior to that I've visited it as a young kid, I even remember when you needed to pay to enter in the 90s.

I really think that Haw Par Villa is a treasure in Singapore and hopefully more would be able to get to see this.

Visited Haw Par Villa late last year for the first time since the 1980s. While overcome with nostalgia, I couldn't help but notice that several of my favourite statues were nowhere to be seen = eg. a group of giant lizards, an enormous cobra with hood outstretched, battling giant crustaceans (2 shrimps attacking a crab), the "trengganu turtle" (a leatherback sea-turtle that I used to sit on as a boy). Does anyone have any idea what happened to these sculptures? (destroyed? moved offsite? being restored?)
