Year 2025 till date (August 2025) 

Year 2025 till date (August 2025) has been quite a journey for my photography and visual storytelling. Although the business side of photography is affected due to slow and difficult (domestic and world) economic conditions, the personal sectors have been fruitful and fulfilling.

SG60 Celebrations 

Year 2025 marks Singapore’s 60th year (SG60) of independence, there was a year long celebration on SG60 theme in Singapore. With this SG60 theme, it was the base of my visual storytelling and photography journeys in 2025 till date. 

There were a number of photography competitions and contests in 2025 celebrating SG60 theme. Together with my personal SG60 visual storytelling project, the photography competitions and contests go hand in hand. One of my highlights and pride moment in 2025, I had a photograph chosen for the 20th Ngee Ann Photographic (NAPE) Exhibition 2025 in June 2025.

My final goal to finish up the SG60 celebrations theme in 2025, planning to produce and publish a photography zine. One of my working ideas is to curate 60 different photographs of Singapore (taken in 2025 and from my archival collections) to mark SG60 celebrations, this is still a work in progress as I have yet to finalise the artistic direction and flow. Celebrating more into History, Heritage, Culture and Arts

In the areas of history, heritage and culture sectors, I have been documenting through my visual storytelling and photography for a number of years. For this year 2025, I found myself celebrating more into the contemporary performing arts and cultures, in the history, heritage, culture and arts sectors. While I have yet to start writing my visual stories of my recent documentation of contemporary performing arts, I am going to work on them soon. 

Year 2025 has also opened up my channels and networks on traditional performing heritage, culture and arts sectors, as well as community led heritage and culture activities. 

Happy World Photography Day 2025!

We photographers and visual storytellers face various challenges and changes in the world today, how society consumes media (more videos consumption over photography). On top of that, we also face our own inner most fears, as well as external forces, the society and people’s  (including other photographers) judgement and criticism. As photographers and visual storytellers ourselves, we know, we feel and understand the ups and downs of our creative journeys and visions. 

On World Photography Day, let’s keep shooting, continue to spread the wonderful and priceless moments, let your passion and love shine through your photographs and visual stories! Don’t give up, don’t let those external noises, judgements and criticism bring you down.

World Photography Day 2024 – An Entire Day

On World Photography Day 2024, let me tell and share a short visual story of my personal interactive and immersive art and craft journeys/adventures with Modulation by House of VSE. The journeys and its timeline fitting of “An Entire Day”. The truth is, this Modulation art journeys and adventures were days and months of “An Entire Day”.

I embarked on another interactive and immersive art adventure in Singapore, it’s the Modulation art journey by House of VSE / Very Small Exhibition, it started with a sneak preview of the artworks work in progress by artist Wei.

Modulation: Food meets Art Participatory Experience 

How does food meets art participatory experience felt like? A unique experience with great ambience, culture, heritage and love for Peranakan cuisine coming all together, followed by a hands on ceramic artwork experience. 

Modulation: Nature meets Art Participatory Experience

How does nature meets art participatory experience felt like? A day trip out to Lazarus Island, it was relaxing and therapeutic, doing artwork in nature under a nice cosy hut.

Modulation: Amalgamation Exhibition

From a sneak preview, going for participatory art experiences, helping out to setup the exhibition event space and attending a fun opening party catching up with fellow like-minded friends supporting local arts and creatives. 

Congratulations to House of VSE and Very Small Exhibition on another amazing, interactive and immersive participatory art experience journey, I was glad to be onboard this journey, and another of your amazing and unique interactive art adventures!

On Saturday 19th August 2023 World Photography Day, let us photographers celebrate photography through our vision, craft, art and visual story. Landscapes photography is one of my favourite photography genres, from my travel photography to urban landscapes.

For World Photography Day 2023, I have selected a few different landscape photographs that were shot with the Canon EOS R6 Mark II mirrorless camera that recently entered into my photography and visual storytelling setup. 

From capturing new landscape views from the newly built housing district in my local neighbourhood, to downtown Singapore Marina Reservoir, or different parks around Singapore. You never know what that moment might bring you on that day itself, and it’s through our photography that we captured down those priceless moments and memories.

For World Photography Day 2022, what does this year 2022 mean to me for my photography?

On a personal photography basis, It has been a fun, reviewing and testing the Canon EOS R3 in Q1 of 2022. Currently in Q3 2022, I am reviewing and testing the Canon EOS R7, the mini stories that I produced and published with the two latest cameras from Canon, bringing back the fun in photography, exploring and my visual story telling. 

For World Photography Day 2022, I would be sharing some curated photographs shot with the Canon EOS R7 review camera to tell my thoughts, feelings and connections with my visual stories/photographs.

Another milestone for me would be bringing my visual story telling and photographs from a digital world to a physical (book/zine) print world, with the upcoming official launch announcement of my second photography zine.

A return to leading photography walks, combining with photography coaching/teaching and photography/cameras consultancy. This is a sector that I haven’t fully tap into, and I am going to do more in this sector.

On the business/commercial photography sector, it has been a constant challenge, adapting and evolving with the changing media landscape, types of media consumption. The future can’t be just standalone photography, it’s a hybrid of photography, videography and social media marketing, a mini digital agency.  

On World Photography Day 2022, let’s continue to explore, photograph, document and share our visual stories. Once again, to all fellow visual story tellers and photographers, wishing you all a Happy World Photography Day 2022!

On 19th August 2021, World Photography Day 2021, I went for a trek in the outdoors, it’s a photography therapy walk for me as well as photographing scenes (landscapes, trees, light rays, sunset) for my work-in-progress photography zines. The weather was awesome, thanks to the heavy and long period rainfall during the early morning hours till late morning, clearing up the afternoon blue sky and beautiful clouds, followed by a memorable 19th August 2021 sunset. 

I shall not write too much on World Photography Day 2021, I published a recent article titled, “Photography, Travel, Updates 17th August 2021” that would cover most of my happenings in the past few months.

Since it’s World Photography Day 2020, I decided to participate and share a photograph that I took today in Singapore on 19th August 2020. It was a photograph of The National Museum of Singapore with her facade lighted up for Singapore’s 55th Birthday.

The message is not about getting the perfect moment or the technically perfect photo. My message for World Photography Day 2020 is #SGUnited – #TogetherStrongerSG.

Let us all be #SGUnited with #OurHeartForSG for a #TogetherStrongerSG as we are still navigating our way out of this global pandemic situation along with an economic downturn with our Majulah Sprit, strength and determination.
