Sony Launches “α7 Through My Eyes” Influencer Campaign

Sony recently launched the Alpha 7 through my eyes influencer campaign on 18th May 2015. Through the eyes of five prominent photographers in Singapore, we can see their photographs and read about their experiences using the Sony Alpha 7 series camera from Sony.

I knew three of the talented photographers on a personal basis, Bryan, Chester and Edward, while for Darren and Kelvin, they are both very well established photographers in their respective fields of photography in Singapore.

Here are the biography and details of the five prominent photographers

α7 series professionals:

Bryan Van Der Beek (Commercial & Editorial Photographer)

Bryan van der Beek is an award-winning commercial and editorial photographer based in Singapore. A former Executive Photojournalist with The Straits Times, Bryan’s photographs are known for their artistic sensibilities, and they have been published in international publications such as Time, Newsweek, and The Washington Post.

Chester Chen (Landscape Photographer)

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Chester Chen has lived and worked in Toronto, San Francisco and London. He now resides in Singapore with his wife and son. He shoots professionally at corporate events and is a founding member of Landscape Hunters Asia, a group of landscape and architecture photographers dedicated to sharing ideas.

Darren Soh (Architectural and Landscape Photographer)

Darren Soh is an award-winning photographer, most recently known for his win at the 2013 ICON de Martell Cordon Bleu Photography Award. A full time independent photographer, Darren has an interest in architectural and landscape photography. His works have been nominated at international photography awards, such as the Commonwealth Photographic Awards and the Prix de la Photographie in Paris.

Edward Tian (Landscape & Cityscape Photographer)

A freelance photographer and automotive consultant, Edward Tian’s skills find strength in landscape and cityscape photography. His unique approach has landed him the first prize for the Marina Bay Singapore 2013 Countdown Photography Competition and 2014 CapitaLand-National Geographic Channel “Building People” Photography Competition. Alongside Chester, Edward is also a founding member of Landscape Hunters Asia.

Kelvin Koh (Wedding Photographer)

Kelvin Koh is the founder of Lightedpixels Photography and specialises in wedding, family, and personal portraits. Credited for popularising wedding photography in Singapore, Kelvin’s studio is widely sought after for his wedding destination shoots. Kelvin also conducts photography workshops and seminars on a regular basis, and is embarking on a regional workshop tour having just completed his first workshop in Tokyo.
