Sony’s much anticipated “Chase The World, As You See It” photography and filmmaking contest is back! This contest has received overwhelming responses in previous years, the 2025 edition promises to be even more spectacular with the launch of a brand new category, Chase the Vision.

Chase The World, As You See It

The Sony photography and filmmaking contest is taking place from 6th October 2025 to 30th January 2026. This campaign invites creators and storytellers across the globe to explore the world through their lenses and push the boundaries of visual storytelling. 

Year 2025 challenge spans SIX dynamic themes, each led by a distinguished judge – acclaimed experts in photography, filmmaking, and creative storytelling – ensuring a rich diverse showcase of talent and perspectives.

Chase the Vision: A brand-new category introduced by Sony in this year 2025, curated by renowned architectural photographer Darren Soh. The theme challenges participants to look beyond the obvious and uncover the hidden stories with everyday spaces and structures, studying how light, form, and perspectives can transform ordinary places into extraordinary visual narratives.

Together with five other categories, the Sony contest spans a wide spectrum of creativity, from:

  • Chase Speed: pushing creators to freeze fleeting movements and dynamic moments too fast for the eye to see.
  • Chase the Wild: Exploring raw, untamed encounters with nature
  • Chase Emotions: Focusing on immortalising powerful feelings and human connections
  • Chase Light: Celebrating the magic illumination and shadow that turns ordinary scenes into extraordinary stories.
  • Chase the Unknown: Encouraging participants to step beyond the familiar and embrace the thrill and mystery of the unexpected.

How to Join Sony “Chase The World, As You See It” Photography & Filmmaking Contest

Participants aged 18 and above can join Sony “Chase The World, As You See It” photography and filmmaking contest by completing the following: 

  • Post photos and/or videos (max 60s) taken with a Sony Alpha camera and lens on Instagram.
  • In the post caption, mention the theme reflected in your photo or video, and how the capture relates to the theme. Tag @sonysingapore, and include #ChaseTheWorld2025 #GMaster #ChosenTheme (i.e. #ChasetheWild) #KlookSG.
  • Ensure your profile is public.
  • Entries must be original, recent (within 12 months), and reflect one theme per post.

Winners will be selected by Sony and the judging panel, and announced via Instagram DM by 2nd March 2026.

Terms & Conditions 

Please take note of the Terms & Conditions for Sony “Chase The World, As You See It” Photography & Filmmaking Contest.

  • The Contest period is from 6 October 2025 – 30 January 2026.
  • The Contest is open only to people of any nationality lawfully residing in Singapore who are 18 years or older as at the date of participation and during the Contest Period.
  • Ensure the profile is set to public to qualify for the competition.
  • Submitted photos and videos must be shot with any Sony Alpha camera and Sony lens, to be verified with a screenshot of EXIF data. Shooting with a G Master lens is encouraged, but optional.
  • Submitted video entries to be capped at a maximum duration of 60 seconds.
  • Photo and/or video submissions must be submitted within the Contest Period. Submitted photos or videos should not be taken more than 12 months from the date of submission.
  • Editing of photo and video entries is allowed, but excessive digital imaging/post-treatments are discouraged.
  • Participants may submit entries to more than one contest theme. However, each entry must be submitted as a separate post, with only one theme-related hashtag per post. Entries that include multiple category hashtags in a single post will be deemed ineligible and will not be considered by the judging panel. ​
  • Each entry can contain up to 6 photos or videos. To ensure fair assessment and clarity in judging, each post should clearly align with only one contest theme.
  • Participants with video entries must retain original copy/copies of the various video files for verification.
